Australia is a wide brown land and monsters that roam the dark seldom venture far from the lights of the cities. There has been limited contact between the cities and outposts, but there always some communication.

 

Then Brisbane went quiet in 2011 turning inwards and insular, the Domain of Perth has fallen and the kindred scattered, smaller societies have faded or disappeared without a trace. Now Elders have begun to vanish, Wilburforce Roe of Perth has vanished, the elder blind prophetess Ylva of Toowoomba is missing. Kindred society stands isolated and threatened.

 

From Adelaide comes the invitation from the Chairman to all surviving and invested kindred who call Australia home, to gather and forge a treaty of mutual cooperation between the far flung outposts of the Australian All Night Society. The time has come to set aside insular views and broker a treaty of cooperation, of agreed standards, of unity of Blood and Covenant between the distant outposts so that none need stand alone and be swallowed up and silenced by the darkness. 

 

Come to the City of Churches on the 1st of October for the first conclave of the Australian All Night Society. Come heed the words of the Elders, listen to how the cities, clans, and covenants were linked and interacted, draw on the wisdom of the Elders to be inspired and lead by the Ancillae as we rebuild kindred society in our own image.

 

Come to the City of Churches and help lay down the Treaty, based on the past, but creating the framework for the nights ahead. Come help re build the Australian All Night Society.

COFD Mage: The Awakening

You all stand in Elder Park, Adelaide. You look down at the invitation in your hands, watching the silver sheen over the cardstock as you tilt it slightly. You can see it is touched with magic, which makes sense considering how it came into your possession. You read it over again:

The place suddenly flickers to life, like somebody turned on a switch, and now you are all illuminated in front of this towering fenced structure. Who knows how large it is on the inside? You could easily circle it in 5 minutes from out here. 

 

A redheaded woman opens the curtains of the ticket booth, she leans across it, a big grin in place. 

"You all ready to go in? Boy, do we have a show for you tonight. Invitations please!"

 

When it is your turn to go through you pull back the fabric curtain and step forward, only to be engulfed in darkness as the curtain closes again.

 

It takes your eyes moments to adjust and then tiny dots of light begin to appear like stars, lining the dark walls in front of you. And while moments before you were so close to your fellow mages that you could have touched them, now you are alone as you feel your way tentatively forward through a maze like tunnel, which twists and turns, the tiny lights providing the only illumination. You have no idea of discerning how far you have gone or in which direction you are moving in, any sense of direction is skewed in this place.

 

Finally you reach another curtain. Fabric that parts easily when you touch it.

 

The light on the other side is blinding.
